Characteristics of Rock Climbing

Each sport has its own particularity that is different from other sports. The main characteristics of rock climbing are reflected in the following aspects:

Speciality of the Venue

Rock climbing is the only sport carried out on steep rock walls (including artificial rock walls). This particularity has attracted the attention of countless people, arousing infinite curiosity and reverie, and thus making people have an impulse to experience it.

Danger

Rock climbing is a sport with certain dangers. All of these determine that there is no completely fixed action in rock climbing. Challenge

Rock climbing is a sport that is extremely challenging to people's climbing ability, perseverance and psychology. It requires climbers to constantly challenge the height, difficulty and time (i.e. speed) of the route. Each climb is a process of constantly encountering and overcoming difficulties. It fully reflects the harmony between man and nature. People show courage and perseverance through rock climbing, and the rock wall is full of vitality and charm because of the arrival of rock climbers.

Flexibility

Before climbing, climbers should make corresponding climbing plans and plans according to different rock walls, different routes and personal conditions, and constantly adjust to new situations during the climbing process and adopt new contingency measures (i.e. second plan or backup plan). For competitive climbing, since most competitions use closed climbing, it is even more necessary for contestants to keep a clear and calm mind at all times and quickly and decisively choose the best climbing action and route. Any mistake, even if it is just an unreasonable action, will lead to failure.
